Stevenson Football

Stevenson has always been a power house when it comes to football I remember watching my brother play eight years ago and even then they were unstoppable. So coming in to this year as a freshman theres a lot of pressure as there always has been, to be the best, to be unstoppable. Its not as easy as some people might think, and when the people you're playing for put you down it just makes it harder. So, with all that said we aren't the best team in school history but hey, at least we're not the worst. The first game of the season, our first game in our four year high school career, and we had no idea what to expect. We had Franklin first as Stevenson always did and for most of us we were playing with the guys we played with before high school as well. We weren't ready and since our coaches had only lost to Franklin once in 12 years it was do or die. It wasn't good we ended up losing 28-6 and from there until the 7th week it was the same. In the third week we were against Salem who our coaches had never lost to, and we got blown out it wasn't looking good for our team and everyone was giving up on us. When it seemed all hope was lost in week 7 we were against Skyline, a new team with only one more win than us, we had a chance, we could beat them, and we new it. We pounded the ball and ran our new gun offense all the way up and down the field in a huge win over Skyline, our first win of the season. You can imagine how crazy the bus ride home was all the way from Ann Arbor. Week 8 seemed as though it was back to normal for us as we made way to many mistakes to win against Plymouth. The last week of the season perhaps the best week of the season we were versing Churchill another one of our cross town rivals a big game for us since our coaches haven't lost to Franklin and Churchill in the same year and we weren't going to be the first. We pounded the ball in our shotgun offense, and for once in the season we were unstoppable, we had the ball on offense almost the whole game. We trampled over Churchill 34-21 and if our defense could have been smarter we could have shut them out. So, yeah, we weren't the best team but we weren't the worst, and if we keep getting better we'll be unstoppable just like all the rest.http://www.highschoolsports.net/defaultcal.cfm?ct=s&schoolid=MI481528916&spt=4&lvl=4&division=1
